Our Production Team

The folks behind Macomb Now Magazine are the creative geniuses at Studio Communications. Together they are the heart of Macomb Now. From brainstorming story ideas, writing, proofing, editing, selling ads, and distributing the magazine, they are responsible for what the magazines look like each edition. The writers and sales representatives are all local residents who live and work in Macomb County already giving them the experience and knowledge to know what to report on and the connection to really have a desire to see it be successful. Below read more on a few of our key personnel from Studio Communications who have been working on the magazine for years.

 

Tracey Moro — Editor in Chief

Tracey received her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations/ Journalism from Western Michigan University and now has more than 35 years of writing and project management experience. She is also the Editor in Chief for Macomb Now Magazine. She owns Studio Communications, a small PR/Graphic Design agency, which handles production of both Local POUR and Macomb Now along with other custom publications. She has lived in Macomb County her whole life and loves telling the stories of the people and businesses here in the county. Hearing from the loyal subscribers and readers how much they enjoy the magazine is something she looks forward to each edition. She also loves receiving story ideas from local residents  so email her anytime with your story idea.

Alexis Bohlinger — Writer

Alexis is a journalist, marketing genius and a bride-to-be. She works with local businesses on their marketing and enjoys writing for local publications. She also contributes to ad sales working with Diane Bowles. When she’s not working she’s at the ice rink coaching girls hockey with young girls of all ages.

Nick Lico — Writer

Nick Lico is a seasoned copywriter and journalist with nearly 35 years of professional writing experience. His bylines have been found in numerous national and international consumer and trade publications. He holds a BA in journalism and a MA in Communication from Wayne State University. Nick lives in Macomb Township with his wife and enjoys writing on local stories. He is also responsible for editing and proofreading each edition of Macomb Now. In his spare time Nick is a golf instructor and enjoys the many local golf clubs in the county.

 

Steve Carr — Webmaster

Steve has worked with digital media for over 25 years, with an extensive portfolio of digital media work. We depend on him to keep our websites updated and our email blasts on time. His expertise is so appreciated. When he’s not working behind the computer he is traveling and enjoying life.

 

Diane Bowles —
Advertising Sales Representative

Diane has worked in the publishing industry for more than 20 years working on consumer, trade and custom publications. She has a BA in Communications from Oakland University and has worked in various marketing, circulation and operational roles. She leads advertising sales for Macomb Now Magazine, and all custom publications. She attends networking events and enjoys getting to know the people behind the local businesses here in Macomb County. When she’s not talking with advertisers Diane is busy with her family.
